July, 2007

This experience has been the best. Ever since I've been in SkillsUSA I've been hearing about Nationals, and I finally got the opportunity to experience it for myself. I was so excited when I got to the airport in Atlanta and saw everyone again. The first three days consisted of officer training. I met a lot of new people that I will continue to keep in touch with and our trainers were amazing.  I really enjoyed the opening ceremony. Seeing all the people on the floor dancing and waving signs about their state was amazing. The week was full of excitement from competitions to delegate sessions. From meeting new people to bonding with your team to closing ceremony, this is a week that I'll remember for the rest of my life.

I would like to thank the V I Ps for coming to visit us and seeing how much SkillsUSA means to us. Thank you for all of your support! See you again soon.

This four day weekend has been amazing!  When I first arrived I was so excited about getting to know the other state officers.  I learned great points of public speaking.  These points helped me to prepare and practice my speech for Nationals.

The camp was also fun.  Everyone was very nice and the teams all cheered one another on. Not only did I bond with the SkillsUSA officers, I really got to know officers of other organizations.  I can’t wait to go back in December to see everyone again.  The good thing is that I’ll get to see the other officers in 12 days!  If not, I would have been sad!
PS:  See you in Kansas City!!
