State Leadership and Skills Conference

The SkillsUSA Georgia State Leadership and Skills Conference is held annually in order to showcase the leadership and skills training the students have obtained during the school year. This is done mainly through the SkillsUSA Georgia Championships held during the conference. The Championships consist of over 100 competitions. There are, however many other activities that go on during the conference.

Registration is open to any student who won 1st or 2nd place in region competitions, students entering contests held only at the state level, State Officer candidates, voting delegates, courtesy corps members, observers, advisors and chaperones.

Students running for election as a State Officer are tested and interviewed. They campaign, make campaign speeches and the ones who win are initiated during the conference and take over as the new officers at the conclusion of the conference.

The Courtesy Corps is made up of students wishing to serve in this capacity to aid in the conference operation by doing tasks that the conference planners ask them to do.
A group from the SkillsUSA Georgia Alumni Association plays a valuable role in helping the conference to run smoothly, by assisting with registration, testing, contests and helping with the Awards Ceremony.
