Dekalb HS of Technology North Celebrates Veterans Day

SkillsUSA Winter Retreat

In the month of December, DeKalb High School of Technology North SkillsUSA had its first annual SkillsUSA Winter Retreat for new members at the FFA Camp in Covington, Georgia.  SkillsUSA members that attended the Fall Leadership Conference in October presented workshops in team-building, leadership development and SkillsUSA awareness.

John Corley and Jerome Kendrick presented a workshop in team building that included activities whereby they had to use each others’ strength and cooperation to complete a task.  Eve Ragge gave information on the value, purpose and goals of SkillsUSA.  Latise McCord’s workshop covered the three types and characteristics of leaders.  Advisors presented additional workshops on peer meditation and developing decision-making skills.
