         During monthly PTA meetings, the DeKalb High School of Technology North SkillsUSA Community Service Committee held a series of workshops on “Financial Literacy at No Cost”.  Seminars were presented to parents and the community during the months of January through March, 2008.  The major goal of the SkillsUSA community service project is to provide parents and the community information on banking and credit thereby reducing the number of bankruptcy and foreclosure cases and increasing their credit scores.  These seminars will be ongoing by providing additional seminars on insurance and car buying.
