Dear Business Leader,
Even in the currently sluggish economy, the demand for well-trained skilled workers remains at historically high levels in the U.S. Yet we continue to see local, state and federal education resources shifted away from career and technical education and toward secondary academic reform and postsecondary technical training. We at SkillsUSA Georgia want quality academics for all students, and postsecondary technical education has been and is becoming an even more key component in meeting the workforce needs of high-tech industry. |
However, we all need to remember that without quality secondary technical education programs there will be no feeder system to postsecondary technical programs and tens of thousands of high school students, who learn best in tactile and contextual education environments, will be effectively disenfranchised. So too will be employers in industries that do not require postsecondary certifications from their entry level skilled workers.
SkillsUSA Georgia is pledged to become an even stronger cross-industry voice in promoting the quality and depth of America’s rising skilled workforce. Perhaps nothing speaks as eloquently to the vitality of our mission as do the bright, enthusiastic, hard-working students that form our great organization.
Many friends of SkillsUSA Georgia have expressed admiration for our programs and students, and have sought ways to add to the time, talent and labor that they have so generously provided us. We are therefore, asking you to consider making either a personal financial donation or a business donation to SkillsUSA Georgia. In a season of fiscal challenges we understand that you must be a great steward of your funds, but be assured that your donation will help sustain and enhance our efforts to guide hopeful young people in becoming the world-class workers and responsible citizens who will be the foundation of America’s future. Whatever donation amount fits your personal or business motivation and resources, it will be useful and appreciated.
Our children and our economy will be better served if more young people have the opportunity to participate in SkillsUSA Georgia and find a path to a successful future. Your personal or business donation will advance that common cause. Please except the best wishes of the SkillsUSA Georgia family to you and yours for a prosperous year, and thank you again for all that you have already done or are considering doing for our students. |
