Overview of Online Championships
The SkillsUSA Georgia Virtual Championships is being created to meet the needs of these extraordinary circumstances and times currently being faced as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and to comply with state government and agency limits of mass gatherings. SkillsUSA Georgia is committed to providing an experience to our membership. Technical committee members as well as business and industry partners have reached out to offer their assistance to ensure that our members have an opportunity to showcase their skills.
Contest Delivery Methods
VIRTUAL CONTEST
Virtual contests will provide an opportunity that closely matches the on-site, hands-on assessment. Technical Committees will create online environments and simulations to replicate authentic assessment. For contests that require an interview, video conference tools will be utilized to digitally facilitate the contest.
PROJECT SUBMISSION
For contests that are presentations, projects, portfolios, and displays, Technical Standards will be modified to a digital submission format and uploaded to SkillsUSA Georgia. Many presentations will become video submissions. Portfolios will need to be created into a portable document format (PDF). Projects that follow specific prompts will be released following registration and need to be submitted within the time outlined.

ONLINE WRITTEN TEST
100 question online test that follows the contest’s standards and competencies outlined in the Technical Standards. These exams are being prepared and written by our Technical Committees who would have facilitated the on-site contest. A new professional development tiebreaker exam will also be administered. These exams will NOT be required to be proctored like other SkillsUSA Georgia Online Tests. Preparation guides will not be available for contest exams.
