Amanda McClure serves as the Program Manager for Advisor Support for SkillsUSA Georgia, where she draws on more than a decade of experience as an educator, SkillsUSA advisor, and Career and Technical Student Organization leader to help advisors build strong, successful chapters and create meaningful opportunities for students.

Amanda’s connection to SkillsUSA began as a high school student, where she was a member, officer, and national competitor. During her senior year, she participated in Work-Based Learning and served as an assistant to the SkillsUSA Georgia State Director. She remained involved as an alumni member and volunteer throughout college before returning to the organization as a professional member and chapter advisor in 2012. Her service has also included leadership as a SkillsUSA Georgia Region Co-Chair and as Secretary and President of the SkillsUSA Georgia Board of Directors.

As an educator, Amanda taught the Architectural Drawing and Design pathway for more than a decade, primarily at Union Grove High School, where she also served as the SkillsUSA advisor. During that time, she coached students to success at the state and national levels and led a chapter that was recognized five times as a SkillsUSA Models of Excellence Chapter, placing it among the top chapters in the nation. Her commitment to Career, Technical and Agricultural Education has earned recognition including SkillsUSA Georgia Advisor of the Year, GACTE New Teacher of the Year, ACTE Region II New Teacher of the Year, Construction Ready Drafting Teacher of the Year, and AIA Georgia Educator of the Year. Amanda currently serves as a Work-Based Learning instructor at Union Grove High School, where she continues to support CTSO advisors and help students connect classroom learning with future career opportunities.

Amanda believes wholeheartedly in the power of SkillsUSA to transform students. She has seen SkillsUSA give a voice to students who once stood quietly in the background, help them discover where they belong, and empower them to achieve more than they ever believed possible. Having experienced SkillsUSA as a student, alumni, advisor, volunteer, and leader, she is passionate about helping other advisors create strong chapters where students can find their place, build lasting friendships, develop as leaders, and prepare for successful futures.

The State Leadership & Skills Conference! I love seeing students from across Georgia come together to compete, celebrate one another, and be recognized for their dedication and hard work. Watching the excitement on a first-place medalist’s face when they realize they are headed to nationals is one of my favorite SkillsUSA moments.
